Winchester firearms – the first name in antique weaponry – is auctioning off some of its most rare and coveted rifles at the Rock Island Auction Company this September 10-12 in Moline, IL. The guns are the famous ‘One of One Thousand’ models – the first in the limited run of each.
The first, 1876 Winchester is a lever action rifle with a full octagon barrel and full-length magazine. It also has fine chequered barrel markings, script engraving, and inlays on the barrel and muzzle. The stock is walnut. Both rifles, however, feature the special attributes that all ‘One of One Thousand’ Winchesters share – the distinct, blue-finish steel barrel and One of One Thousand engravings.
They’re accompanied by a letter of authenticity and are expected to fetch between $200,000 and $500,000 apiece. Check them out in more detail here.
