Next week, original and vintage poster, print and photo purveyor Limited Runs will be taking its greatest rock images on the road. The show will be traveling to LA, Vegas and NYC throughout the year, and the folks behind it were kind enough to let us share a sneak peek of some of the best shots, with notes where applicable. (The Dave Grohl pic above, for example, was taken by Stephen Sickler for Sound & Vision magazine and spoofs an ’80s Maxell ad.) From Jay Z to Pink to Weezer, they’re worth a lingering look. Rock on.

Photographer: Stephen Stickler
Date of Shoot: 2002
Notes: This photo was taken at an in-store in 2002. Stephen brought headphones that had been spray painted with the reflective paint used to draw lines on streets. He asked Moby to put them on and asked some of his fans to put their hands around him for a photo. Then he snapped this picture.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE
Photographer: Stephen Stickler
Date of Shoot: 1992
Notes: This photo was taken right after their monster debut album came out in 1992. Stephen wanted a spoof of The Who’s The Kids Are Alright album cover, where the band members look like they are sleeping against a tombstone with a British flag over them. Stephen tried to get the band to close their eyes, but they didn’t quite trust him yet and wouldn’t do it. He got goofy faces instead.

WEEZER
Photographer: Stephen Stickler
Date of Shoot: 2003
Notes: This was taken during a studio session with Stephen. He brought the glasses to the shoot but was hesitant to ask the band members to put them on, thinking they may not like the idea. Toward the end of the shoot, Stephen finally brought out the glasses and they happily put them on and loved it.
