Naan. It’s a type of grilled flat bread, and it’s delicious. It’s also pretty simple to make and it comes with pretty much every Indian meal. You’re girlfriend will be oohing and aahing in approval when you bust out this recipe.
Ingredients:
1/4 ounce active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1/4 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1 egg, beaten
2 teaspoons salt
4 1/2 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons minced garlic (optional)
1/4 cup butter, melted
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Let it stand for ten minutes.
Stir in sugar, milk, egg, and salt.
Add flour slowly, until soft dough forms. You may not use all of the flour.
Knead for six minutes.
Rise dough for one hour in a lightly-oiled bowl.
Pinch off small pieces of dough and roll them out quarter-inch thickness.
Brush with oil, and place dough on hot grill for two to three minutes.
