Austin is a party town. How could it not be? Great weather, great people, tons of bars and clubs…the list goes on. The straw that stirs the drink, however, are the great concerts and festivals that hit Austin on the regular. Witness Austin City Limits 2013, cornucopia of sound blasting through the sweltering Austin heat. of all the great acts set to perform, there are a few that are near and dear to our hearts. Here are four bands worth the heat at Austin City Limits 2013.

1. The Cure – This is a band that is on "Certifiable Legend" status. Robert Smith, oh he of such venerable albums as "Disintegration," brings his incomparable musicianship to Austin in order to entertain the sweaty masses. Perhaps it's true that "Boys Don't Cry," but if you shed a few tears of happiness, no one would blame you.

2. Muse – Muse is hot right now. Like, surface of the Sun hot, you know? So what better band could be on tap for the heat at Austin City Limits 2013? None, we think. Muse's hits live in the Top 10 and get airplay on all types of radio stations, so it's sure to be a motley crew on hand to watch their performance.

3. Franz Ferdinand – A band that is a pure joy to watch perform. With good vibes and energy to spare, you'd be hard pressed to find a better match for Austin City Limits. By their own admission, they make music that makes you want to move, so load up on the carbs and dance until you drop when Franz Ferdinand hits the stage.

4. Passion Pit – Over the last year and a half or so, Passion Pit has gotten quite a lot of airplay. Their hit "Take a Walk" was all over pop radio and alt-rock radio. Though they've been around for a few years, Passion Pit seems poised on the brink of super-stardom, and Austin City Limits is the kind of atmosphere that will showcase the fire of one of music's freshest acts.
