When thinking of legendary rock outfit AC/DC, a nice bottle of wine probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind (a fifth of Jack might be more appropriate). But it seems the band has developed a more refined palate over the years, so much so that they’ve lent their image to a new collection of vino aimed squarely at rock fans with a taste for the red and white stuff. It’s AC/DC, the wine ($17.99).

Culled from grapes grown in the band’s native Australia as well as New Zealand, the wines have already gained a healthy following in the Southern Hemisphere. The collection has something for wine lovers of all tastes, including a Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, with a Moscato on the way. Naturally, the varietals each sport names inspired by the band’s greatest hits, like “Thunderstruck Chardonnay” and “Back in Black Shiraz.” It’s more than a little gimmicky, yeah, but the taste reviews assure us these are more than just cool-looking bottles, boasting earthy spices, citrus undertones and notes of dark berry, depending on which one you’re swirling around in your mouth.

Of course, if you do want them for the bottles alone, that’s fine too (we’re looking at you, AC/DC paraphernalia enthusiasts). The wines are only available online right now, but will hit select retailers in the United States shortly. Pick up the full collection or individual bottles at vinport.com.
