Whether you know her as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s daughter in San Andreas, Owen Wilson’s babysitter in Hall Pass or the leggy lifeguard of your dreams in Baywatch, Alexandra Daddario always makes a genuine, indelible impression.

Which is why we’re inclined to trust her when it comes to canines.

The New York native recently teamed up with Autotrader on their new dog adoption site, Dogtrader, and she gave us the scoop on that bit of genius, her own adopted pup and where she’ll be popping up next…

Dogtrader.com sounds awesome. Why should people check it out?
Autotrader has the largest variety of car options and they’re partnering with adoptapet.com on dogtrader.com. I love this idea because like autotrader.comdogtrader.com allows you to find the dog that matches your lifestyle easily. Choosing a dog and buying a car are both huge life choices and you want to know that you can go to a trusted place to find the pet for the car that works best for you. Plus, we need to get dogs out of shelters into loving homes!

We understand you have a pretty cool adopted dog yourself. What’s Levon’s story?
I first found Levon online, and then located the rescue center where he was staying in Los Angeles. He had been neglected and abused and dropped off by his previous owner as an “owner surrender.” It took some adjusting but once he felt safe he became the happiest dog. He’s honestly the coolest dog ever. He totally suits my lifestyle. He loves hiking and going on road trips, which were actually two of the reasons why I picked the car that I picked because it’s big and we like to take long road trips and travel a lot.

Your IMDB is buzzing. Where can we look for you next?
We Have Always Lived in the Castle starring myself, Sebastian Stan, Taissa Farmiga and Crispin Glover is screening at the Los Angeles Film Festival in late September. It was directed by this wonderful director named Stacie Passon. You can also keep an eye out for Nomis, which stars myself, Henry Cavill, Stanley Tucci and Sir Ben Kingsley. I’m about to start shooting a film called Can You Keep a Secret?, based on the bestselling book, which I’m very excited about!
