Luxury devotees now have a more stylish alternative to the Smart car or the Toyota iQ in the Aston Martin Cygnet – a 2-door hatchback designed to easily navigate crowded and cramped streets, and to do so leaving a small, stylish carbon footprint.
But will Aston owners be interested? Maybe. Certainly this is not designed to be anybody’s primary vehicle. Aston CEO Ulrich Bez says it will be, “akin to an exclusive tender to a luxury yacht.“ Likely Aston dealers will use them for rental cars, and media moguls will keep one under their cabana at their private island for scooting down to the beachstand for coconut milk.
Pricing and features are TBA, but estimates put it at around $45,000, making it by far the most affordable car in their line. It won’t just be badged Aston, either. It will be completely manufactured in their factory at Gaydon in Warwickshire, England with their notoriously luxuriant trim and styling. Check out some press photos below!
