Alex Parks

Alex Parks (born Alexandra Rebecca Parks, 26 July 1984, is an English singer-songwriter. She is best known for winning Fame Academy in 2003, for her singles, and for the albums, Introduction and Honesty.

Alex Parks was raised in the pretty village of Mount Hawke on the Cornish coast. Being brought up near some of the best surfing beaches in the south west it is no surprise to learn that Alex is an avid surfer and has fronted a surf-rock band.

Alex also plays acoustic guitar and uses it to write and perform her own songs, which she has been doing since the tender age age of 15. Her favourite artists include Ani Di Franco, Annie Lennox, Skin and Jimi Hendrix.

Besides surfing and music, Alex has a love of circus skills including juggling, mime and magic. She even went to college to develop these skills and is currently trying to master the unicycle.

Since appearing on Fame Academy, Alex has become known for her heartfelt renditions of classic tear jerking ballads. As such Alex has been labelled 'the queen of angst'. Besides her obvious singing talent, Alexs' charisma and on-stage presence beguiles and mesmerizes her audience -a sign of star quality.
