Alyona Minkovski

Alyona Minkovski is RT’s Washington DC correspondent.

She joined the team in December 2008, and began covering the American political scene with Barack Obama’s inauguration.

Alyona has since been providing viewers with detailed coverage from the halls of Congress and protests on the Capitol’s streets, as well as rural regions of the US affected by the financial crisis.

While she often interviews those of great political clout, Alyona also enjoys giving a voice to those ignored by the mainstream media.

These stories have taken her from California to Las Vegas to New York.

Born in Moscow, Alyona was raised in California. She earned her Bachelors degree in Political Science and minored in Film and Digital Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Alyona speaks English, Russian, and Spanish fluently.

Outside of work, she loves travel, photography, and being a fulltime fan of the Los Angeles Lakers
