Amanda Pflugrad's Summary

Amanda Pflugrad is currently an entertainment/lifestyle reporter for FOX Sports Arizona, covering charity events that both pro athletes and celebrities are involved with in the Valley.

Amanda’s interest in sports started at a young age when she spent her early years growing up on the sidelines watching her dad coach and her brother play football.

She has interviewed various athletes including Larry Fitzgerald, Kurt Warner, Kwamie Lassiter, Donovan McNabb, Grant Hill and Vince Carter. She also had the opportunity to cover Media Day for both Oregon and Auburn during BCS week. Her work with celebrities includes Bret Michaels, Jordin Sparks, Rob Thomas, Verne Troyer and Bo Derek.

She believes that growing up as a coaches’ daughter has helped her gain insight into what athletes do both on the field and off.

While reporting for Fox Sports Arizona Amanda has hosted various shows and events ranging from working for the Arizona Cardinals to appearing on the Style Showdown with Melissa Rivers. Teaming up with Rand McNally and USA Today, Amanda traveled across America in an RV as a travel host for three weeks. During this time, she not only served as a reporter but also shot, edited and produced the RV film crew’s videos. She has also worked as a production assistant for both ESPN-3D and E! Entertainment.

Amanda attended the University of Oregon, where she majored in broadcast journalism with a minor in communication studies. During her senior year she did sideline reporting for Altitude Sports and Entertainment. She was a weekly reporter for Oregon News and was selected to be a Student Ambassador for the John E. Jaqua Center for Student Athletes. Amanda also was a cheerleader for Oregon for four years and served as captain of the University of Oregon Cheerleading Team her senior year. Specialties
