Amanda Seyfried Introduction
Amanda Seyfried is an actress and former child model best known for her breakout role as the airhead member of “The Plastics” in Mean Girls (2004). In addition to that role, Amanda has subsequently appeared in other high-profile roles including spots on television shows Veronica Mars and Big Love, and feature films such as Mamma Mia! (2008) and Jennifer's Body (2009).
Amanda Seyfried Life Story
Amanda was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She graduated from William Allen High School in 2003, and is currently attending Fordham University in New York City. Her parents got her started as a child model early (at the tender age of 11), and she appeared on the cover of three Francine Pascal books.
Amanda landed roles on the soaps The Guiding Light and As the World Turns in 2000, while an early teen. She went on to her third soap in 2002-2003, playing Joni Stafford on All My Children, during her senior year of high school studies. Immediately following high school, she was able to breakout of the world of evil twins and amorous doctors when she landed a role in the Tina Fey written feature film, Mean Girls (2004). Amanda was up for both the lead role, eventually landed by Lindsay Lohan, and the secondary role, eventually landed by Rachel McAdams. Despite missing both of these, Amanda graciously accepted playing third fiddle (hey, at least she wasn’t on a soap opera anymore)!
Since Mean Girls, Amanda has landed a slew of other high-profile roles, including television shows Veronica Mars, Law & Order: SVU, House, Wildfire, and Big Love. She’s also been seen in feature films such as Alpha Dog and Solstice. Amanda admirably continues to pursue her college degree (showing us that she’s not an airhead in real life), while also continuing her entertainment career. Amanda has starred in several feature films recently, including Boogie Woogie (2009) alongside Heather Graham and Gillian Anderson, and Mamma Mia! (2008) alongside Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan. These both seem like major steps forward from working with the panty-less, drug-addled trainwreck that is Lindsay Lohan. Way to go Amanda!
Amanda won a 2010 MTV Movie Award for Best Scared-as-Shit Performane for her role in Jennifer's Body.
