At some point in recent history fame became a transportable commodity. Hot actresses began releasing albums (Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Hilary Duff, Jennifer Lopez, etc.) and hot singers began acting (Beyonce, Avril Lavigne, Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore, etc.). Everyone is a triple threat now because God forbid anybody be successful at something and be satisfied. Could it be that these people are so ridiculously talented that they can just hop from trade to trade with ease or are they pumping retard juice into the water and we’re all drinking it? Here is Ashanti’s bio:
Ashanti Life Story
Born in Glen Cove, Long Island, NY, Ashanti began singing at age six for her church choir. She took dance lessons and continued to perform at local festivals and talent shows. By the time she was 14 major record labels were in a bidding war to sign her. She signed with Jive but left the company when they tried to push her in a direction she wasn’t comfortable with. She was 16 when she signed with Epic, but a change in management pushed her away before ever releasing an album. Eventually she signed with Murder Inc. and found an outlet for her talents.
She began singing backgrounds and hooks on other people’s songs before she released her debut single, "Foolish". Her self titled first album debuted at number 1 sold more than 7 million copies world wide. Her second album, Chapter II, knocked Beyonce’s Dangerously in Love out of the top spot, but her third album, Concrete Rose, failed to reach number one. Her fourth album, Declaration, is due out some time next year.
As an actress she has appeared in Bride and Prejudice (Aishwarya Rai, Alexis Bledel), John Tucker Must Die (Sophia Bush, Brittany Snow) and Resident Evil: Extinction (Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter). She is set to release her own line of handbags and pocketbooks along with a book about style sometime in the near future.
