Introduction
Blake Lively is an American actress best know for her role on "Gossip Girl." She comes from a showbiz family. Her father, Ernie is an actor and her mother is an agent. She is the youngest of five children, all of whom are actors, so it’s no surprise that Blake Lively found success in Hollywood.
Life Story
Born in Tarzana, CA she went to Burbank High School, where she was a cheerleader, honor student, national choir champion, and class president. Her big break as an actress came shortly before she graduated when she played “Bridget” in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005), teaming up with America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel. She nabbed the role by walking into the audition, handing them her picture and then leaving. The girls reunited for the sequel (ingeniously called Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008)) which was released in August, 2008. In 2007, she played the title character in the indie film Elvis and Anabelle (2007). (She was Anabelle, not Elvis.) The movie was only selectively shown in theaters in 2007 but may get a DVD release sometime in 2009.
Currently she stars alongside Kelly Rutherford and Leighton Meester on The CW teen drama "Gossip Girl." On November 20, 2008 Blake had an uncredited cameo in a skit on "Saturday Night Live", where she played a transvestite. She then got to host SNL on December 5, 2009 and did a hilarious impersonation of Elin Nordegren.
In 2009, Blake was seen on the big screen in New York, I Love You (2009) and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009) which also starred Winona Ryder, Maria Bello, and Monica Bellucci. In 2010, Blake will star in the Ben Affleck directed crime thriller The Town (2010). She also won the highly coveted role of Carol Ferris in the upcoming movie Green Lantern (2011).
Blake ranked #43 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2008 list. She was #59 on the AskMen Top 99 Women of 2009 list and #85 on the 2010 list.
