Brooke Satchwell

She was born several weeks premature.

Most known for her role in the seemingly interminal Australian soap Neighbours.

She received critical aclaim from her theatre work in the Australian production of The Graduate.

After considerable success in both TV and Theatre, she had a number of lean years, when she ended up broke and working in a dress shop to pay the bills.

She had a resurgence in 2006 with roles in the iconic, and much sort-after, Australian kids show Play School plus the UK/Australian production Tripping Over, Fox's Dangerous and Channel Nine's Canal Road.

Unfortunately, this resurgence was mixed with personal tragedy, when she was the victim of domestic violence from long-term boyfriend Matthew Newton.

Following this she reassessed her life. She has started working behind the camera and become involved in campaigning against poverty, as well as taking on what she calls "her first real job" as admin assistant for a computer company.

Still she completed filming of her first lead role in a feature movie Subdivision in may 2008, due for release in August, and performed the lead in the short films Corrections (Boxing Clever Pictures) Dec 08 and "Echo" (Grace Productions) Apr 09.
