Carla Gugino Life Story

Carla Gugino was born in Sarasota, Florida but moved to California at the age of five after her parents' separation. They moved around quite a bit, although never leaving the state, and Carla graduated as Valedictorian of her high school class. When Carla was 15, she was discovered by a modeling agency in San Diego. Modeling was difficult, however, because she was considered too short for runway work.

Carla decided to study acting at the suggestion of her Aunt, game show model Carol Merrill (best known for her work on “Let's Make a Deal”). Carla made her acting debut with a few guest spots on sitcoms in the late 80's (The Wonder Years, Who's The Boss?, Alf) and made her film debut playing one of the girls in Troop Beverly Hills.

Carla made 16 films in the 90's including Son In Law and Miami Rhapsody. She also was featured in Bon Jovi's 1994 video for “Always” and then ended the decade with her role as Ashley, Michael J. Fox's love interest, on the series, Spin City with Heather Locklear. Rumor has it that Carla was removed from the show because Fox's wife Tracy was uncomfortable with their good chemistry.

Carla has since starred in the Spy Kids' trilogy, played a surgeon on Chicago Hope and played the title role in tv's Karen Sisco, a role that was played by Jennifer Lopez in the film Out of Sight. Most recently, She had roles in films Sin City along side fellow hotties Devon Aoki, Jaime King, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, and Alexis Bledel, She also appeared in A Night at the Museum as well as HBO's series Entourage.

Carla appeared nude in Allure magazine's May 2007 issue and can also be seen in Ridley Scott's American Gangster. She was the female lead in the cop thriller Righteous Kill, opposite De Niro and Pacino.

She plays pinup crime fighter Sally Jupiter in the hyper buzzed graphic novel adaptation Watchmen. She will star opposite Dwayne Johnson in Race To Witch Mountain and plays porn star Elektra Luxx in Women In Trouble, opposite Emmanuelle Chriqui, Marley Shelton, Adrianne Palicki and Connie Britton.
