Catherine Bach Introduction

Catherine Bach (born March 1, 1954) is best known for her role as Daisy Duke on The Dukes of Hazzard. Very short cut off denim jean shorts are often referred to as "Daisy Dukes", thanks to how she rocked that look on the series.

Catherine Bach Career

Bach's first screen appearance was in the Burt Lancaster murder mystery, The Midnight Man, shot in Upstate South Carolina in 1973, in which she played the murdered coed, Natalie Claiburn; it was released in June 1974. Her next role was as Melody in the 1974 film Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.

In 1985, she served as the model for the figurehead for the schooner Californian. At one time her lovely pantyhosed legs were insured for $1,000,000. In 2002, she launched a line of diamond jewelery at Debenhams. In 2004, Catherine reprised her role as Daisy Duke in voice over for The Dukes of Hazzard: Return of the General Lee video game, which helped re-spark interest in the popular 1979-85 CBS-TV show. She has also appeared as Daisy in two CBS-TV movies, The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! (1997), and The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood (2000). She also maintains her own official website, which is also partially dedicated to the series.

Catherine Bach Personal life

Bach was born in 'Catherine Bachman Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Norma Kucera, an acupuncturist, and Bernard Bachman, a rancher. Her maternal grandparents were Mexican and her father was of German ancestry. She spent part of her teen years in South Dakota, where she visited her grandparents in Faith, South Dakota, and graduated from high school in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Catherine was married to producer and director David Shaw, the son of actress Angela Lansbury, in 1976, but the couple divorced in 1981. Bach married Peter Lopez, a well known Hollywood, California area entertainment lawyer, in August 1990. They were married until Lopez's untimely and tragic death, which was ruled as an apparent suicide by gunshot wound, in 2009. Together they have had two children, teen daughters Sophia and Laura.
