Catherine Bell Introduction

Catherine Bell is a British actress who has made a living playing women in the military, most notably in the TV shows JAG and Army Wives. Catherine is also a cancer survivor and a scientologist.

Catherine Bell Life Story

Before Catherine was an actress she was a UCLA student, where she studied in biomedical engineering. It wasn’t long, however, until Catherine realized that biomedical engineering was for ugly people and tried her hand in acting. She got her start when she appeared in a Mexican commercial at the age of 21. Then she became the body double for Isabella Rosselini in Death Becomes Her (1992). This gig impressed the right people who cast Catherine in the TV show JAG where she played military lawyer Lt. Col. Sarah ‘Mac’ Mackenzie. This show lasted nine seasons even though it aired on a channel nobody watched. She also starred in the Jim Carrey vehicle Bruce Almighty (with Jennifer Aniston).

After JAG ended, Catherine was quickly grabbed by another TV channel nobody watches, Lifetime, to star on another military show Army Wives. Incredibly Army Wives has become a hit, ensuring that Catherine will be able to continue her military career for years to come.
