The youngest of three girls, Christina was born just outside Toronto. She carried a double major of theater and dance at the prestigious Arts York at Unionville High School. She went on to further her training at the Ryerson Theatre School, among such alumni as Eric McCormack and David James Elliott. In addition to her film and television credits, Christina has appeared in numerous national theater productions ranging from classical productions of William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" to Jim Cartwright's raw and dirty "Road".
She is well known for her portrayal of Kim in the romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate (1999) as well as her Gemini-nominated performance as Angela Ramirez, the series lead on Rysher's "F/X: The Series" (1996). She also co-starred opposite Rob Lowe (IV) and Teri Hatcher in the USA thriller Jane Doe (2001) (TV). She competed in gymnastics, track and field and tae kwan do. She is proficient in boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing and has extensive training in stage combat, period weaponry and firearms.
Notable TV appearances include Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, a recurring role on Forever Knight as Jeanne d'Arc, Due South, The Crow: Stairway to Heaven, First Wave, The Outer Limits, PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal, Earth: Final Conflict, Stargate SG-1, Mutant X, Andromeda, and House M.D..
As a child, Christina played soccer and aspired to become an Olympic gymnast.
Cox currently stars in the Lifetime series Blood Ties as private detective Vicki Nelson. She also recently appeared in the dramas Ascension Day and 3/5th of a Man.
Fiercely protective of her private life, rumor has it she's just started dating a UK-based writer. UK fans will hope the trip to last month's EXPO was just the first of many for Christina to this side of the pond.
