Claudia loves to write , she has a weekly column on a Wednesday in the Independent. Also she regularly contributed to the Sunday Times, Glamour and Cosmopolitan.
Winkleman is of the Jewish faith and married to Kris Thykier, once a partner of the public relations firm Freud Communications with Matthew Freud, he has since joined forces with film director Matthew Vaughn (husband of Claudia Schiffer) in setting up a film production company called Marv Films.[12] They live near Hyde Park in London, where she is a neighbour of Tony Blair, and also own a home in Maida Vale. They have two children: Jake, born in March 2003, and Matilda, born in June 2006.
On the 1st September 2008, The Daily Mail reported on problems in Winkleman's marriage to Thykier. The paper reported that Winkleman "looked drawn and stressed on the doorstep as she greeted (her father and stepmother), who took her son out for the morning. She was not wearing a wedding ring". However, Winkleman said in February 2009, in an interview with Fabulous magazine regarding her marriage, "Everyone has problems, but you have one life and you have to sort things out. It's what everyone does". She is now wearing her wedding ring again, and has said that everything is back on track.
