Danielle Fishel is an American actress best known for her role as Topanga on "Boy Meets World".
Danielle was born in Arizona, but her family relocated to Yorba Linda when she was an infant. At age 10, she was discovered performing in a community playhouse and scored some voiceover work for children's commercials. That work led to small roles on "Full House" and "Harry and the Hendersons".
"Boy Meets World" began production in 1993. The role of Topanga Lawrence was meant to be a guest starring role, but her popularity as a smarty pants with sass and a whole lot of hair earned her a major part on the show until it ended in 2000. During this time, she dated her co-star and on-screen love interest, Ben Savage.
In 1999, Danielle was dating NSYNC singer Lance Bass. She took him to her high school prom in Calabasas (The year before she actually went to Prom with Scott Walker) and has remained friends with him ever since, even praising him in interviews after he revealed publicly that he was gay.
The years since "Boy Meets World" have led to roles in small films such as "Dorm Daze", "Dorm Daze 2", and "Gamebox 1.0". She also co-hosted a daily sports show on the radio from her current home base of Orange County.
Danielle went on "The Tyra Banks Show" in 2006 and discussed losing 27 pounds by using the Nutrisystem diet. That appearance landed her the role of special correspondent for the show and a contract as a Nutrisystem spokeswoman.
Despite stating that she does not drink, Danielle was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving on December 18, 2007 in Newport Beach.
Danielle is currently dating hip hop artist Michael Barber. The two met at a Cancer charity event in June in the Dallas-Fort Worth Texas area. Michael Barber is signed to Universal Records through Hoopla Media Group.
