Danneel Harris Introduction
Danneel Harris was born Elta Danneel Graul in Lafayette, LA and was raised in the small town of Eunice. She moved to Los Angeles and continued her acting training with John Homa, Calmeson and Calmeson, and Craig Wargo.
Danneel Harris Career
Before she landed her first acting role, Harris worked as a model with such companies as Big Sexy Hair and Juicy Jeans. She first appeared in a television commercial. The independent film The Plight of Clownana (2004) marked her first major acting role. Her other credits include the WB's "What I Like About You," guest appearance on "Mad TV" and a supporting role in the indie film Rule Number One (2005) starring Ed Harris.
Harris is skilled in gymnastics and her musical talents include playing the piano and singing. She relocated to New York in 2004 for her role on "One Life To Live."
In 2005, Harris scored a recurring role on the hit TV show "One Tree Hill," playing the fiery redhead Rachel Gatina, a thorn in many of the character's sides. She went on to become an integral part of the show, featuring in the main credits of the fourth season. She returned to the show Sept. 21, 2009 for a seven-episode arc.
As far as movies go, Danneel has appeared in Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008), Extreme Movie (2008), Fired Up! (2009) and had an excellent nude sex scene in the otherwise awful movie Ten Inch Hero (2007). She'll be in a number of films in 2010 including Mardi Gras (2010), The Roommate (2010), and The Back-Up Plan (2010).
Danneel ranked #62 on Maxim's "Hot 100" list for 2007, #45 in 2008, #28 in 2009, and #72 in 2010.
In November 2009, Danneel got engaged to "Supernatural" actor Jensen Ackles. ref They got married in May, 2010.
In the Spring of 2010, Danneel was cast in a pilot for NBC called "Friends with Benefits." The sit-com has been picked up by NBC and will air in the summer of 2011.
