Elizabeth Berkeley is an American television, film and stage actress. She is best known as the proud feminist Jesse in Saved By the Bell (1989) and as the sleazy whore Nomi in Showgirls (1995).

Elizabeth Berkley Life Story

Elizabeth became a television star before she had graduated high school as she got the role as Jesse in Save By The Bell while she was still in her senior year. Elizabeth starred in the show along with hottie Tiffani Amber Thiessen. The show was a quick hit with the kids and Elizabeth suddenly found herself in the limelight. Elizabeth left the show after the fourth year because she thought she would go on to bigger and better things. She was terribly, terribly wrong. Elizabeth starred in Showgirls, the quintessential film flop of the nineties (not that it stopped any of us from viewing it on mute). Her costar in the film was Gina Gershon, but unlike Gina, Elizabeth’s career was very much damaged after the film. For years she was unable to find any work at all that didn’t include her playing a loose or naked woman. Good news for us, bad news for her.

Lately however, Elizabeth has been gaining reasonable critical praise with small roles in small movies like The Real Blonde, Roger Dodger, and Woody Allen’s The Curse of the Jade Scorpion.

Elizabeth is now married to painter Greg Lauren and just starred in the TV movie Black Widow.
