Erica Hill Introduction
Even with all the hotties like Christiane Amanpour and Nancy Grace, Erica Hill emerged as the one good thing to watch on CNN. She was so good that in 2011, CBS made her the co-anchor of The Early Show.
Erica Hill Life Story
Erica's life story can be summarized by one word: Beating the odds. Oh wait, that's three. Anyway, Erica was born in Clinton, CT, and beat all odds by becoming the first well balanced, non-crazy, non-annoyingly spoiled person to come out of the state (citation needed). Eventually, she would go on to defy the odds by being an attractive female on CNN.
Erica Hill Career
Erica started building her nerd herd street cred in her first journalism gig hosting a radio show for PC Week Radio. Really? PC Week Radio? Of course, since this was radio, it left everything up to the nerd imagination. But she cemented her status amongst the Star Wars crowd when she got in front of the camera for TechTV, and turned out to be even hotter than anyone had imagined. She proved herself to be more than just a pretty face with her coverage during 9/11. That was the springboard to launch her CNN career, where went on to host Prime News with Erica Hill for HLN, further cementing her status as a serious reporter with her live field coverage of Hurricane Katrina. In early 2008, she moved from Atlanta to New York City to be the Gracie Allen to Anderson Cooper's George Burns on AC360 as a sub-anchor on legitimate CNN. Suddenly, the sub-prime mortgage crisis and presidential debates were interesting again. Alas for Coop, she found a better match (and more prestige and much better hours) co-hosting The Early Show Saturday with Chris Wragge for CBS News in the fall of 2008. She did double duty until January 2010, when she moved to CBS News full time, keeping her weekend anchor job and taking over for Russ Mitchell as the regular newsreader for the weekday edition of The Early Show.
On January 3rd, 2011, she and Wragge left their weekend anchor jobs and ascended to co-anchoring the regular, weekday edition of The Early Show, ousting Harry Smith and Maggie Rodriguez. Hill passed the newsreader baton to Jeff Glor, and Marysol Castro rounds out the team as weather anchor. The Early Show has never been so hip!
Erica Hill Personal Life
Erica graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Journalism from Boston University, which makes her seem all the more unattainable. Which is why it's all the more frustrating to learn that she married some lawyer dude named David Yount, when she could have married someone like Brad Pitt (I mean, if that happened, at least you could say, "Well, I never had a shot"). Anyway, she had a kid in 2006 and another one in 2010, so she qualifies for the MILF club.
