Born in Perth, Australia, she accompanied some friends to a taping of the Australian television show "Search for a Supermodel". A scout saw her and offered her a chance to be on the show.

Gemma Ward Career

At 16 she was named one of Vogue magazine's "it girls". She was the youngest model to ever appear on the cover of American Vogue and was the first model to ever grace the cover of Teen Vogue, Vouge India and Vouge China. Her baby doll face inspired a new craze in fashion and has inspired a new generation of baby doll-like models such as Vlada Roslyakova, Heather Marks, and Jessica Stam. Forbes magazine named her the 10th highest paid model of the year with earnings in the 3 million dollar range.

She appeared in the music video for the John Mayer song "Daughters" and she played a 'masked stranger' in the Liv Tyler film The Strangers which makes zero sense being that Gemma Ward's whole thing is her face. Her next role is opposite Toni Collette in Black Balloon.
