Ginnifer Goodwin is an American film actress best known for her role as Johnny Cash’s first wife, Vivian, in the film Walk the Line (2005), and for her role in the HBO series Big Love (2006-?). She’s also been in a pair of a high (well, probably “medium height”) profile relationships. The first was with Topher Grace, who helped her get a part in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (2004), and currently she’s dating male-bimbo poster boy Chris Klein.

Ginnifer was born in Memphis, Tennessee to mother Linda, who worked for Federal Express, and father Tim, who owned a recording studio. Ginnifer’s parents have since divorced. She has one younger sister, Melissa. Ginnifer attended Lausanne Collegiate School, graduating in 1996, and went on to Boston University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater in 2001.

Ginnifer broke into the entertainment industry immediately after graduation, landing guest spots on Law & Order and Ed in 2001. Her first role in a feature came in the female-dominated Mona Lisa Smile (2003). There, Ginnifer worked with many of today’s hottest young actresses, and made a lot of connections. She began dating Topher Grace during this time, and he helped her land her next role, in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!, in 2004. Shortly thereafter, Ginnifer landed her most high-profile role to date, playing Johnny Cash’s first wife, Vivian, in Walk the Line (2005). Ginnifer’s been on a gravy train with biscuit wheels ever since.

She currently stares in the hit HBO series "Big Love," as one of the many wives a polygamist. (How do you sign up for that job?) Other films roles for Ginnifer include In the Land of Women (2007) (sounds like a very promising title), Birds of America (2008) (no thanks, sounds like it requires studying), and He’s Just Not That Into You (2009). How someone who looks like Ginnifer could be starring in the latter is a mystery.
