Hillary Scott Lady Antebellum

Hillary Scott is the daughter of Grammy winning country artist Linda Davis and musician Lang Scott. She grew up in Nashville and was raised around other artists and writers. Growing up, she despised being a musician, as it entailed being away from home for long periods of time.Her first performance was during her junior year in high school, when she joined her mother on stage for a family Christmas show at Opryland. Following the show, she was convinced to follow a career in music.

After high school, Scott worked with singer-songwriter Victoria Shaw and earned some publicity, but was unable to secure a contract with a major studio. That's when she met future band members Charles Kelley and later Dave Haywood. She ran into Kelley at a Nashville bar and had recognized him from his MySpace page, where she had previously heard his music. The trio got together to write some songs at first, but ended up forming Lady Antebellum. Scott claims that being part of Lady Antebellum, as opposed to being a solo artist, lessens the pressure on her on the stage.

In 2008, she was awarded the songwriter of the year by SESAC for her contributions to Lady Antebellum's singles "Love Don't Live Here" and "Lookin' for a Good Time."

At the 2011 Grammy Awards Hillary and Lady Antebellum cleaned up good. They Won Record Of The Year, Song of The Year, Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals, Best Country Song and Best Country Album.

At the 2012 Grammy's they won they won the award for Best Country Album.

Sorry to say she's off the market; married to drummer Chris Tyrell sometime January, 2012 (official date never revealed).
