Isla Fisher Introduction

She's more than just Borat's girlfriend. From a young age, Isla (pronounced eye-la) Fisher showed an interest in both acting and writing.

Isla Fisher Life Story

At 9 years old, she was appearing in Australian TV commercials. She landed some small parts in Australian series, “Bay Cove” and, in 1993, landed a bigger role on the series Paradise Beach.

The role that landed her the most coverage was that of Shannon, in the long running Australian Soap "Home and Away" which was also broadcast in the England. After several years in this role she then followed the path of several other notable Aussie Soap stars and transplanted to Europe to pursue her career.

While filming the soap, she published 2 best-selling teen novels, “Bewitched” and “Seduced by Fame”. Her mother was a romance novelist.

In 2002, she had a part in the film version on Scooby Doo (Sarah Michelle Gellar), playing Shaggy's love interest. She then was cast in Wedding Crashers as Vince Vaughn's love interest. This won her an MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough performance. She can also be seen in 2006 films, London and The Lookout. She will next appear in The Wedding Daze, co-starring Jason Biggs, and will have a voice part in Horton Hears a Who!

Isla Fisher is engaged to Borat and Ali G star Sascha Baron Cohen. She has reportedly converted to Judaism in preparation for their marriage. The couple just recently gave birth to their first child, a baby girl named Olive.
