Career

Based in New York City, Jamie was in India and Sri Lanka providing extensive on-site coverage in the wake of the South-East Asia tsunami. She covered Martha Stewart’s insider trading trial and prison release. She also reported on the Kobe Bryant case, Hurricane Charley from the National Hurricane Center in Miami and the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster investigation from NASA Headquarters in Houston. In addition, Colby interviewed Madonna on her first children’s book exclusively for FNC.

Prior to joining FOX News Channel, Jamie was a correspondent for CNN and served as an anchor and reporter for CBS News. She was also an anchor for WPIX/WB-11 New York, a reporter at WNYW FOX 5 New York, a correspondent/co-anchor on FOX News’ WebMD TV, and an anchor for WLNY Channel 55.

Aeards and Honors

In 2002, Jamie received the prestigious Edward R. Murrow National Award for her coverage of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the Clarion Award from the Association for Women in Communications for investigative reporting and was named Television Week’s “Rising News Star to Watch.” Colby also received the Gracie Allen Award for investigative reporting in 2000.

Law career and other interests

Aside from her journalism career, Jamie is also an attorney and served in private practice for 10 years. She is an attorney admitted to practice in New York, California, the District of Columbia and Florida. Colby is also a former law professor, a member of Law Review and has been a National Board member of American Women in Radio and Television for the last several years. Attending the University of Miami International School of Business at age fourteen, she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting as well as her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law at age twenty-two. She is married Marc K. Wallack, Chief Surgeon at New York Medical College, and has a son. Her husband Marc, in spite of having undergone quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 still was able to run the New York Marathon in 2006.
