Jill Wagner Life Story
Born in Winston-Salem, NC, Wagner is not just a pretty face. With a business degree from North Carolina State University, she understands the impact breakthrough advertising can have on a product's name recognition.
Like many other rising actors based in Los Angeles, Wagner's career started in community theater and in comedies such as "Not Another Teen Movie" and "Big Fat Liar." She also played a co-conspirator on television, in Ashton Kutcher's MTV series, Punk'd.
However, Wagner's appearance in the Mercury commercials - which resulted from a typical casting call - has raised her profile significantly. Her popularity is growing with chatter on numerous automotive and "starlet watch" blogs, as well as reporting in the news media about the new "Mercury girl."
Wagner recently told the Detroit Free Press, "I wanted to come off as an All-American girl that wants to give you advice about a car. I wanted to be very real."
Her approach seems to be working, as car dealers and auto enthusiasts alike have lots of good things to say about Wagner, and her role in the Mercury ad campaign.
Wagner's next role? She's currently at work on a series for SPIKE TV, based on the Wesley Snipes "Blade" movies. (source: http://media.ford.com/newsroom/feature_display.cfm?release=22100)
To date, Jill is best known as one of the hosts of the show Wipeout.
