Introduction

What do you get when you cross Brazilian-swimsuit-model genes with Yale-presidency genes? One stunning woman: Jordana Brewster.

Life Story

The daughter of Maria Joao Leal de Sousa, a former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model from—hold on, it gets better—Brazil, and Alden Brewster, an investment banker and the son of former Yale University president Kingman Brewster, Jordana grew up in Rio de Janeiro and London before settling in Manhattan at 10. After graduating from the Professional Children’s School—where she learned how to be a professional child—Jordana broke into acting on "All My Children" and then spent three years as Nikki Munson on "As the World Turns."

At 18 Jordana made her big-screen debut in The Faculty (1998) (Salma Hayek, Famke Janssen), and three years later she had a memorable turn as Mia Toretto in The Fast and the Furious (2001) (Michelle Rodriguez), a road epic that put her on the cover of many magazines and inside nearly every teenage boy’s fantasies. In between stints at Yale, where she graduated in 2003, Jordana has also starred in think-pieces like D.E.B.S. (2004) (Sara Foster, Meagan Good), Annapolis (2006) (Katie Hein) and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006) (Diora Baird). After spending time on the dating trail with playboys like Mark Wahlberg and Derek Jeter, Jordana disappointed millions of men (and several women) in May 2007 when she married producer Andrew Form.

Jordana will reprise her role as Mia Toretto in the next installment of the The Fast and the Furious franchise which is ingeniously called Fast & Furious (2009).

Having filmed a pilot for the television version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith—she played the Angelina Jolie role, naturally—Jordana is signed on to star opposite Simon Baker in 2009’s kidnap-thriller Not Forgotten. Speaking of which, we know we’ll always remember Jordana. (What can we say—we’re huge As the World Turns fans.)
