The sexy Julianne Nicholson currently plays Det. Megan Wheeler on Law and Order: Criminal Intent, but she is best known as Jenny Shaw from the early 2000s hit, Ally McBeal.
Julianne Nicholson Background
Julianne Nicholson was born and raised in Medford, Massachusetts and is the oldest of four siblings. After graduating from high school, she took off for New York to begin a modeling career. After six months she headed to Paris to continue, only to return to New York another six months later.
She attended Hunter College, but soon quit to study acting and start her new career. In 2004 she married British actor Jonathan Cake, whom she had met while working on the unaired HBO show called Marriage. They have since had 2 children.
Julianne Nicholson Acting Career
In her first feature film role she starred opposite Michael Caine and James Spader in Curtain Call. Later she won what proved to be both her breakthrough and favorite role as a headstrong young feminist in The Love Letter with Tom Selleck and Kate Capshaw.
She went on to star with Calista Flockhart and Portia De Rossi in the hit show Ally McBeal for half a season, playing the memorable Jenny Shaw. Some other television roles followed and she currently stars as Det. Megan Wheeler in the sixth season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
She will soon be playing the lead role of Sara Quinn in John Krasinki's adaptation of David Foster Wallace's Brief Interviews With Hideous Men in 2009.
