Karen Elson is more than just a supermodel. She's also a talented singer. Though she's known for her red hair, and her commitment to fashion (She did runway shows in Paris while pregnant), Elson's true talent may be in her voice. She has sung with indie-darling Cat Power on a tribute album to French songwriter Serge Gainsbourg. Elson has also sang with the political burlousque group The Citizens Band in New York. During the shows, Elson sings cover versions of songs by Leonard Cohen, Pete Seeger and the London Underground.

Elson also has a fetish for rock stars. She dated James Iha of the smashing pumpkins, and recorded a few songs with him. In 2005, she met Jack White on the set of the White Stripes video for "Blue Orchid". The two fell in love and were married that year in a ceremony conducted by shaman, which took place in a canoe along the Amazon River. In August of 2007, she gave birth to a daughter named Scarlet Theresa.
