Kari Wuhrer (sometimes credited as Kari Salin, born April 28, 1967) is an American actress, singer, songwriter and is occasionally topless straight-to-video personality.

Early life and career

Wührer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin, a payroll accountant, and Andrew Wührer, a police officer and car salesman. She is of Cherokee and of German descent and has three siblings. As a teenager, she sang in nightclubs, sneaking out of the family home to perform. Her connections within the shadowy underbelly of Brookfield allowed her shake her meddling cop father on numerous occasions. Also, she was paid in cash, so her accountant mother had no W-9’s to scrutinize. It was win-win.

1990's - Present

After starring in The Adventures of Ford Fairlane with box office poison Andrew Dice Clay', Beastmaster 2 and straight to video sexplotiation pieces like Sex and the Other Man and Spider’s Web, Wührer came to mainstream fame in 1997 on the series Sliders, joining the cast as a regular and staying until the show ended in 2000. Her co-star Jerry O’Connell would go on to team up with Jake Busey and a pair of cancer-ridden testicles in Tomcats.

Kari also co-starred in the movie "Anaconda" opposite from Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Owen Wilson, Eric Stolz and Jon Voight.

Wührer signed a record deal with Rick Rubin and her debut album was called Shiny. She plays the guitar and flute, and sings as well. She does not do all three at the same time, but if she could, she would have a lucrative career in the carnival circuit.

From February to November 2005, Wuhrer joined the cast of the soap opera General Hospital as FBI Agent Reese Marshall, the former love interest of mobster Sonny Corinthos and former best friend/rival of main character, Carly Corinthos. Wuhrer's character died after suffering some minor injuries in a train wreck, which probably means she’ll be back next season, after it turns out she faked her own death as part of an elaborate scheme to extort money from the mob. Take that, Sonny Corinthos, of the Corinthos crime family!

Kari Wuhrer Personal life

In the late 1980s, Wührer dated rock singer Dean Davidson. She married Daniel Salin in 1995 and divorced in 1999. In the summer of 2000, during an appearance on a cable network show, she publicly stated that her boyfriend Henry Rollins dumped her by email. That is so punk!
