Kate Ashfield is an award-winning English actress and comedienne.
She is probably best known for her award-winning roles as Jody in the British-German film Late Night Shopping (2001) and as Sadie MacGregor in the British film This Little Life (2003).
She also co-starred in the 2004 movie Shaun of the Dead.
Ashfield attended King Edward VI Five Ways (being part of the first female intake into the sixth form in 1988 prior to the school being opened up completely to girls in 1998). Ashfield appeared in As You Like It and was involved in a number of local youth theater groups. She got her feet wet by trained at Rose Buford College.
She has since appeared in many film, television and theater productions. Her first movie role came in 1994 as Ella in John Wells' film Princess Caraboo.
She has performed in numerous plays associated with the In-yer-face theater movement, and was invited to speak on the subject at the University of the West of England's 2002 Theater's Shock Therapy conference.
