Krista Voda Life Story
Krista Voda is an American sportscaster who covers auto racing. She was born and raised in Clinton, Iowa and attended the University of Northern Iowa. In high school, she lettered in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. If you’ve followed NASCAR at all over the last few years, you've undoubtedly heard her name. Best known, perhaps, as the former host of two of the sports' signature daily television programs: "NASCAR Nation" on the Speed Channel and Fox Sports Net's "Totally NASCAR", Krista has established herself as a veteran journalist in the motorsports industry. Racing wasn’t always her game and it’s a sport that found her…when she wasn’t looking. We were looking, Krista, staring actually.
In 2001, she was the weekend sports anchor at WLEX in Lexington, KY. A former co-worker called her up to tell her of a job opening in Charlotte, NC, so Krista took her world, one that had always revolved around “stick-and-ball” sports, and turned it around…some 400-500 miles at a time. We'd still like to hear about these "stick-and-ball" sports, however. Krista quickly dove into her new role as an auto racing reporter. In 2006, she joined the primary racing series, "The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series", as a pit reporter. That same year, she ventured into uncharted territory, trading in 4-wheels for 2-wheels, as a pit reporter for the AMA’s Supercross Series. Rumor has it, she's kept her motor clean.
She is a regular contributor to racing websites, with articles on FoxSports.com, ThatsRacin.com, and SpeedTV.com. She continues to be a part of several various radio programs across the country. When she’s not “on-air”, Krista can still be found “on the mic" as an emcee or guest speaker of several different corporate and charitable events. She might just be the Best Damn Auto Racing Reporter Period. If you'd like to visit her, she lives near Pittsburgh.
