Born and raised in Purvis, Mississippi she moved to California with her family when she was cast in the TV drama Party of Five alongside Neve Campbell and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Since the Party ended, Chabert has been in a number of films and television shows, most notably Not Another Teen Movie (2001) and Daddy Day Care (2003). Her career got a booster shot when she joined forces with Rachel Mcadams, Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried in Mean Girls (2005). More recently she worked with Katie Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Black Christmas (2006), or as it was known in Canada, “Noël noir” as well as voicing Elise in the video game Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). Lacey has also done voice over work for the Saturday morning cartoon The Spectacular Spider-Man. She was in a number of recent films including Reach for Me (2008), Sherman's Way (2008), In My Sleep (2008), and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009) which also starred mega hotties Noureen Dewulf, Jennifer Garner, and Emma Stone.
