Leila Sbitani has hosted a wide variety of television shows that have taken her all over the globe and enabled her to work with countless celebrities. She also has extensive experience as an actress in theatre, commercials, voice-overs, and industrials.
Leila began her television hosting career in New York City on a live show called Studio Y. The show was a hit and aired five days a week for nearly three years on The Metro Channel.
After Studio Y’s success, Leila became one of the first correspondents on the very popular, Full Frontal Fashion, when it debuted on Metro. Following Full Frontal Fashion Leila traveled to Scotland with Robert Verdi to host the millennium celebration for E! Entertainment's FYE. She also covered the first live televised event from Bryant Park's Fashion Week for E! and Style. Soon thereafter she covered the MTV Video Music Awards and The Emmy's for Entertainment Tonight interviewing some of the biggest names in Hollywood including U2's Bono, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Will Smith.
As the host and star of Nick at Nite’s hidden camera program, Hi-Jinks, Leila would perform in character with celebrities, including Susan Sarandon, Vivica A. Fox and Jane Seymour playing pranks on kids. Some of Leila’s other hosting credits include Oxygen's Nice Package, and 48 Hour Wedding.
Leila’s television guest appearances include roles on All My Children, Guiding Light, and MTV's Apt 2F. Her film credits include The Reunion, which took her to the Cannes Film Festival and was winner at the New York Independent film festival.
In 2004, 2005 and 2006, Leila was delighted to honor her father’s Arabic Heritage when she performed sketch comedy for the New York Arab American Comedy Festival. The 2005 show also traveled to Los Angeles.
Leila’s most famous ad campaign was for Detroit’s Belle Tire Company. After shooting more than 80 commercials over the course of 6 years, she earned the nickname “The Belle Tire Girl”. Leila gained so much popularity as “The Belle Tire girl” that she was asked to do many local radio and television programs, and personal appearances to sign autographs. Leila also teaches a TV hosting class in New York City and travels around the country teaching on-camera technique.
