Introduction

Linda Stouffer's given first name is Cinnamon, chosen by her parents who simply liked it, although family folklore has it that it also came from Barbara Bain’s character name from the original Mission: Impossible.

Life Story

Cinnamon Linda Stouffer was born August 6, 1970 in San Marcos, Texas. After graduating magna cum laude with a BA in Communications from the University of The Incarnate Word (San Antonio, Texas) in 1992, Stouffer began her career as a news writer. In 1993 when the news broke of the Branch Dividian standoff with government agents outside Waco, Texas, she earned her stripes in a trial by fire situation. When the news director of KMOL (WOAI-News 4) in San Antonio looked into the newsroom and saw only a rookie reporter sitting there she got the break of a lifetime.

Ms. Stouffer co-anchored the morning news program "Ahead of the Curve", which aired simultaneously on CNN/U.S. and CNNfn, CNN's former financial news network. She also anchored on Miami's WSVN. From 1997 through Dec 14, 2008 she remained at CNN, her final position at CNN being an afternoon anchor on CNN Headline news. She is currently a correspondent for WSB (Channel 2) In Atlanta.

While at CNN, Ms Stouffer reportedly shot down numerous offers by Larry King to be his 12th wife as she is married to Mark Strassman, a CBS news correspondent. The couple have two children and reside in suburban Atlanta.
