Lisa Guerrero is in the process of taking her swagger from the sidelines of Monday Night Football to the shining lights of Hollywood. Considering this process began in 1990, might be a clue to her thespian talents. But she's damn fine to look at.
Lisa Guerrero was born in Chicago on April 8, 1964 to Walter Coles and Lucy Guerrero. Her mother was from Chile, which is not the country Madonna sang about in Evita (is it?). She spent her childhood living in San Diego and Huntington Beach, California working on her already tanned figure. She began her show-business career in the 1980s as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams. After cheerleadering she moved on to be the entertainment director for the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots. Later, in the 1990s, she moved on to star in Aaron Spelling's "Sunset Beach", one of the mega-producer's few failed series. In 1997, she became a sports-anchor on Los Angeles' KCBS station and later KTTV station.
In 1999, she moved to the Fox Network, where she participated in several shows there. She even traveled to Egypt to tape the special "Opening the Tombs of the Golden Mummies", to which many asked, 'why the hell?'. In 2003 she left "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" she had been co-hosting to join ABC's "Monday Night Football" television crew. Her performance on the broadcast was heavily criticized, proving critics are not into hot women. She defended herself by saying that the show hired her with the intention of going in a totally different direction with the job of sideline reporter - personality-driven and feature-driven - then discarded all of that and told her to just do the job in the usual fashion. She said that she never would have taken the job if she had known that they would change their minds like that. The following year ABC replaced her with Michele Tafoya. Shame on you, ABC, shame on you.
Brighter days were ahead, however, when in December 2005, the 41-year old Guerrero posed topless for the January 2006 issue of Playboy. After her pictorial Guerrero said that Playboy had asked her to pose for the magazine in the mid-1980s but she'd declined the offer. It was well worth the wait. We thank you Hef, you are an inspiration.
