Lisa Hernandez

Lisa Hernandez is the weekend morning co-anchor of the "Eyewitness News" team with John Gregory. She joined Eyewitness News as a general assignment reporter in September of 2004.

Lisa was born and raised in Indio, California, just east of Palm Springs, and made the move to Los Angeles as a freshman at UCLA. She freelanced for the L.A. Times while earning a political science degree, and turned her focus toward broadcast news upon graduating in 2001.

Lisa began her television news career as a producer for KESQ, the ABC affiliate in Palm Springs, where she worked the graveyard shift to write and edit the weekday morning show. It was 18 months later that she accepted an on-air position in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a one-man-band, Lisa worked as a liaison between News 14 Carolina and several Spanish-speaking media outlets to report on issues affecting local immigrants in the Carolinas.

Now back in Southern California, you can catch Lisa every weekend morning at the news desk, in addition to her live reporting during the work week.

In her spare time, Lisa enjoys running, catching up with family and friends, and cheering for her Bruins at Pauley or in Pasadena. In a newsroom filled with 'SC grads, she takes great pride in rooting for her alma mater every chance she gets!
