Introduction
Lucy is best known for her role as Xena the Warrior Princess, the ass kicking hot chick who may or may not have been a lesbian. Although she's done lots of television and film in her career, the image of her in her warrior skirt, beating the crap out of stunt men in ancient Greek attire, will forever be stuck in our heads.
Life Story
Lucy began acting in acting in secondary school. She graduated and went to Auckland University, but dropped out when and left for Europe with her boyfriend, Garth Lawless, who, though his name might indicate it, is not a male porn star. The couple moved back to Australia, and at 19, Lucy became pregnant with Garth's child and they got married in Kalgoorlie, Australia, a town which may have been named after the sound someone makes while vomiting after ingesting most Australian cuisine.
After Lucy divorced Garth, she appeared in the pilot for Hercules: the Legendary Journey. The producers noted her charisma, and in 1995, she appeared in a show created for her, Xena: Warrior Princes. The show was a hit and developed a die hard fan base. Her career took off, and though the show came to an end, Lucy's career did not. She has been on several television shows, as well as on stage in the play The Vagina Monologues.
During her run as Xena, Lucy developed thousands of gay and lesbian fans, and has appeared at gay pride parades in several countries. She has even gone as far as to say she too, saw her character's relationship with her sidekick, Gabrielle, as a gay relationship. The news of this caused celebration among the gay community, and the horny men community.
She has guest stared on several television shows, such as Battlestar Galactica, Burn Notice, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. She also played a ´super soldier´ in X files.
In January 2010 she is going to have a Co-Starring Role in the New Zealand filmed series, Spartacus: Blood & Sand as Lucretia, the scheming, insatiable wife of Batiatus who own a gladiator camp called the Ludus. She also owns Spartacus along with her husband. This new series has been described by Rob Tapert (the producer) this way "It's unlike anything we've done before, because it is very hard and very explicit. It's harder than 300" and “We’re going to cut it back on Starz, which is premium cable, so that they feel it fits within the R-rating slot,” Tapert says. “If it went into a theater, it would definitely be R-rated.” It’s not just the violence that’s explicit. “Violence and sex.”
