Lymari Nadal Introduction

Lymari Nadal is a Puerto Rican actress best known for her role as Eva, the Puerto Rican beauty queen (real stretch) who married Denzel Washington's character in American Gangster (2007).

Lymari Nadal Life Story

In 2000, at the age off 22, she finished her Masters degree in Chemistry at the University of Puerto Rico, where she also took acting classes. After graduating, she went on to work in the theater in San Juan. Apparently, there were no chemistry jobs available in Puerto Rico.

Lymari came to Los Angeles in 2001, and began developing a TV show with ABC. It was a sitcom based on her own experiences in grad school, but it was never picked up.

Her first screen appearance was on an episode of the TV series "American Family" in 2002. Coincidentally, she married the star of the series, Edward James Olmos, that same year. She is 31 years younger than Olmos, and he has two children from a previous marriage who are older than her. If you find this a little creepy, you are not alone.

Lymari next had a minor role as Giana, a refugee from Caprica, in the Battlestar Galactica Miniseries in 2003, also starring Olmos. (Is there a pattern here?) In 2006 she was in the Puerto Rican film Thieves and Liars (2006) before she was cast in American Gangster (2007).

Nadal is now developing a film about the Puerto Rican nationalist Lolita Lebrón, who spent 25 years in jail after participating in an armed attack on the U.S. House of Representatives in 1954.
