At school she began to demonstrate her artistic skills (with a few scares because of a struggle with asthma)studying acting at different schools in Madrid.
Years later, after years of fantasizing of becoming a famous actress Maria would finally fulfill her dream when she was 16 with a leading role with Luis Tosar in a Manuel Martín Cuenca movie, La flaqueza del bolchevique, winning the 2003 Goya Award for this role.
By that time, Maria recalls, I was trying to keep my feet on the ground and continue to study high school, but the directors and critics claimed it for its beauty and professionalism.
