Marisa Petroro is a model on NBC's game show, "Deal or No Deal."

Her parents immigrated from Italy to Argentina where they met, married, and had a son. Later moving to New Jersey with about $1,000 in hand. Marisa was born in the Garden State and grew up in the town of Elizabeth speaking only Italian (Abbruzzese dialect) to her father.

Marisa is also a survivor of a rare childhood cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. Each year 350 children will be diagnosed and two-thirds will survive with proper treatment.

She is currently in the beginning stages of a documentary to help raise awareness and funding to find a cure.

Marisa has also produced her own children's pageant called Miss New Jersey State while she was going through chemotherapy to keep her mind focused on something other than her illness.

Growing up, she was involved in many pageants, starting at the age of five when she won the title of Miss Pee Wee New Jersey.

She then went on to win many others (about 100) such as Miss Junior New Jersey and Miss Italia USA where she placed in the top five for the Miss Italia Del Mundo title (Miss World Italy).

Marisa Petroro's first commercial was directed by the infamous David Lynch. It was a black-and-white commercial for the Clear Blue Easy pregnancy test, which received a lot of press back in 1997.
