Maxine Bahns was born in 1971 in Vermont, the daughter of a German-American father and a Chinese-Brazilian mother. Maxine left home at 16 and traveled to Barcelona, Valencia, Paris and Rome. Returning to New York, she attended NYU where she majored in Latin and Greek language and literature, also attending acting classes at Three Arts Studios. During this time she auditioned for Ed Burns' The Brothers McMullen (1995) and was cast as the female lead opposite Ed Burns. She then became romantically involved with the writer/director. When Burns cast his next fim, She's the One (1996), Maxine got the part of . . . you guessed it: Burns' love interest.

Over the next few years, she appeared in various Independent films such as Chick Flick (1998), Dangerous Curves (200) Cutaway (2000), Vice (2000), Spin Cycle (2000) and The Elite (2001). TV work includes guest spots on "CSI: NY," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "Justice" and a recurring role (playing Simon Baker's wife) in "The Mentalist". Upcoming films for Maxine include The Lost Tribe (2009) and Charlie Valentine (2009).

After moving to Los Angeles, Maxine became involved in triathlons, and in 2001 she competed in the Hawaii Ironman Championships. She has also competed in numerous other triathlons such as the Wildflower 1/2 Ironman and the Keauhou 1/2 Ironman. She has appeared on the covers of Runner's World, Triathlete Magazine, and Fit magazine.
