Melissa Grelo joined the "CityNews" / CP24 news team in July 2006 as Writer and Anchor. Having previously held positions at CHUM Television's A-Channel Barrie/Toronto as Commuter Specialist for both "BreakfastTelevision" and "A-Channel News", Melissa brings with her first-hand experience in the broadcasting industry. Prior to her career in broadcasting, Melissa was a teacher at Montessori Country School in Nobleton teaching grade seven and eight students. She also worked as a bartender in downtown Toronto.
"Toronto is truly a multicultural city. Having that represented in the staff at Citytv means we don't just talk the talk, we walk the walk," says Melissa. "Having been a teacher, I see how powerful positive, multi-ethnic representation in the media can be on the younger generation."
In 2004, Melissa was in the first episode of the television series, Wonderfalls, as the Native Princess character.
Melissa is currently a news reporter/anchor for CP24 News.

A believer in goodwill, Melissa's charity work includes raising funds for the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) and the Canadian Association of Riding for the Disabled (C.A.R.D.) through her family's horseback riding demonstrations. On September 6, 2008, Melissa married former model Ryan Gaggi. Her sister Rosanna was the Maid of Honor in the wedding. Her father Frank Grelo owns and operates the horse back riding school, Cedar Mills Riding School. Melissa is of Portuguese (father Frank Grelo) and Filipino (mother Clarita) descent. She owns a doberman pinscher, named Sultan, which she adopted from the local spca. She previously owned a german shepherd.
