Melissa Rycroft

Melissa Rycroft became famous in an unfortunate way, being dumped on the 2009 edition of "The Bachelor" despite appearing to be the winner at first. Bachelor Jason Mesnick proposed to Melissa on the season finale and she said yes. But six weeks later he dumped her on the reunion show in favor of runner-up, Molly Malaney.

Prior to her experience on "The Bachelor" Rycroft was a contestant on the first season of the CMT reality TV series "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team." As the first season concluded, Rycroft was selected as one of the 36 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for the 2006 NFL season. Rycroft remained on the DCC squad through the 2007 NFL season.

After her stint on "The Bachelor", she became a surprise contestant on "Dancing with the Stars" after [[Nancy O'Dell]] withdrew from the competition due to an injury sustained during pre-season practice. She eventually finished third on the show's eighth season. Melissa then became a special correspondent for "Entertainment Tonight."

On December 12, 2009, Melissa got married to Tye Strickland, whom she had dated before "The Bachelor."
