Introduction

Life Story
Born in the small town of Winthrop, Iowa, Michelle Monaghan is the youngest child and only girl of Sharon and Robert Monaghan. By far the most successful Monaghan child, she attended Chicago’s Columbia College for three years as a journalism student before taking a job as a model to help pay for her education. Immediately realizing modeling is a million times easier than staying in college, Michelle moved to New York to work full time as a pretty face. Work as an actress was an obvious next step. In 2000, she made her acting debut in two episodes of “The Young Americans” opposite the eating-impaired, yet uber-hot Kate Bosworth. This quickly led to work on “Boston Public” where fans still debate weekly about who is ‘puffier’: William Shatner or James Spader.
In 2005, Michelle’s deal with the devil was complete. She married her Australian boyfriend of five years, graphic designer Pete White. Most importantly however, she performed her first nude scene in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, a frequently Tivo-ed scene. After witnessing her assets in that film, pint-sized Scientologist Tom Cruise signed her up for a love scene with him in Mission: Impossible III prompting him to thank Xenu for landing such a hottie. She also compared coal miner sexiness to Charlize Theron in North Country and oiled Brad Pitt’s gun in the actioneer Mr. & Mrs. Smith, also starring the lips of Angelina Jolie. After also co-starring with Ben Stiller and Casey Affleck, she is now firmly entrenched as an A-list actress.
