Mónica Cruz Sánchez was born March 16, 1977 in Madrid, Spain, into the same house as uber-hot Penelope Cruz. She may have grown up in the shadow of her famous sister, but apparently that shadow had magic in it, because it sprinkled hotness on Monica, too. What choice did she have, but to become an actress? First, she trained as a dancer in Joaquin Cortes's dance company for seven years. That was enough to be a good actress, too, so she launched a career as a thespian.

Mónica became famous for playing Silvia Jáuregi in the Spanish TV series "Un paso adelante", or as American men call it, "that show I'll never watch". Her star is rising as Hollywood has taken notice of her success in Spain. Men worldwide took notice, however, as Mónica modeled alongside sister Penélope for Mango's fall 2007 line. Mmm-Mmm, good.

Monica Cruz will be appearing in Iron Cross, written and directed by Joshua Newton, as an assassin named Gaby. Iron Cross is due to release in early 2010.
