Nicola Roberts Introduction

If England had more singers like Nicola Roberts and less rain, it would be the happiest place on Earth. Her band Girls Aloud is this decades answer to The Spice Girls.

Nicola Roberts Life Story

British Singing Sensation Nicola Roberts is best known for being part of the all-girl group Girls Aloud whose members include Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh. The singer/songwriter got her big break by appearing on the British show Popstars: Rivals in 2002. The show was a competition/audtion to find the best female pop stars to form the band Girls Aloud.

Roberts, however, was voted off the show before the final round, but was luckily brought back on after another contestant dropped out due to contract discrepancies.

Before winning the contest and being a pop superstar, Roberts was singing in local clubs with DJs in the U.K. dance scene. With the success of the show and the band, Roberts was able to show off her song writing abilities as well. She co-wrote the songs "It's Magic", "I Say a Prayer for You" and "I Don't Really Hate You." She is currently signed to the Polydor record label.
